The best part of spring cleaning is having an organized, cared for, and clean house. The worst part is having to do the work. Spring cleaning can feel daunting because your home has so many facets that need to be cared for. Finding products that not only look beautiful but make cleaning and maintenance easier is a huge benefit.
With this problem in mind, our team at Lakeside R&D turns to Infinity® windows with internal grids for a solution. We successfully install this durable product that also provides solutions for maintenance and cleaning through internal window grilles.
Sleek and Simple Cleaning
If you love the traditional look of windows with grilles between the pane, then you likely know the headache that can come with cleaning the glass. Having to stop and restart with each new pane and work around the corners created by the window’s grilles makes washing windows a complicated and time-consuming chore. But what if the panes were built between the glass rather than around it?
Infinity’s internal grids make cleaning easy. Grilles still add the design you desire, but they are built between the two glass panes to create one solid pane on both the exterior and interior of your window. With one large pane, you can easily spray down the glass and wipe it clean—no more small nooks and crannies that collect grime and require large amounts of elbow grease and a detailed eye. Infinity Windows are all about achieving the beauty you desire in a window while receiving a more durable and lower maintenance product.
Infinity’s double-hung windows make this even simpler with their tilt-in convenience. The exterior and interior panes are easily accessible from one location. Frames are designed to glide along the sashes and tilt in either direction to make the entire surface area of the glass accessible.
Infinity Styles and Options
Infinity windows come in a wide range of colors and styles. You can choose nearly any color combination or style combination that will match your home. But when it comes to maintenance or function, Infinity windows have two grille options:
Simulated divided lites
The window’s grilles are permanently adhered to both the exterior and interior glass panes to simulate a true grille that runs through a window. This creates a more traditional looking window.
Grilles between the glass
The grilles are situated between the glass panes in your window, which creates one large pane on the exterior and interior of the window. This lowers cleaning and maintenance needs.
Talk to your contractor about all of the double-hung window grille options available to you. You can choose from rectangular grilles that create equal-sized panes across the whole window, or cottage-style grilles with three equal panes on top and none on the lower frame, and all the other styles in between. And with a large range of hardware finishes, you can complete the perfect tailored window for your home with easier cleaning.
How to Get a Streak-Free Clean
Internal grids make cleaning your windows easier. The right tools and cleaning solutions can make your cleaning superb. So how can you achieve a deep, streak-free clean?
While there are many ways to wash your windows, you can make natural and safe cleaning products and utilize tools that produce a thorough clean without leaving behind unsightly streaks. They can even help decrease the collection of dust immediately after a cleaning.
Here are a few great tools to have on hand for your window cleaning:
- High-quality squeegee
- Lint-free rag
- Non-abrasive sponge
To make a safe cleaning solution that won’t leave behind streaks, combine equal parts warm water and vinegar. Apply the solution to the windows and scrub with a non-abrasive sponge. Wipe clean until completely dry with a lint-free rag or squeegee. Keep the edge of your squeegee clean, and work from the top of the window to the bottom, moving horizontally to really achieve a superb clean. Professional cleaners use squeegees to get the fewest streaks and work the fastest.
If you require a deeper pre-cleanse, add a teaspoon or so of mild dish soap to your water/vinegar solution and scrub the windows thoroughly and rinse them off. Then apply your simple water/vinegar solution. Soap can leave streaks, so ensure your final cleanse contains only water and vinegar to reduce streaking and keep your windows from attracting dirt.
