Length at Lakeside:
What do you love about working with Lakeside?
Lakeside is more of a people-centered company than I have worked for in the past, both toward customers and employees. I have had the opportunity to grow in a lot of ways since starting this job and am grateful for the future opportunities I have now because of it.
Tell me about your Family.
I am married to a wonderful wife and have 2 boys, 4 years old and 2 months old.
In addition to being paid, how else has your career created value in your life?
4 years ago, I would not have guessed where my life would be right now. I was out of full-time work and had a new baby. This position opened up and I had an opportunity to help grow this department and a new skill set. Since that time, I’ve gotten to improve myself and take some big steps for future opportunities that I wouldn’t have imagined. Even with how unusual things have been during this year for a lot of people, this position has been both stable and able to adapt to these unprecedented times. Right now, I am enjoying the flexibility to work remotely because it allows me to use the time I have more efficiently not only for work but mostly my family. That would simply not be possible in many other types of career paths.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
About a year and a half ago my wife and I bought an older fixer-upper and started restoring it. It has been a big project but we are turning it into a new start for our family’s future, so a lot of my spare time right now is going toward that. Once we get finished with the house, I look forward to the new opportunities and freedom that we will have from it.
What is your greatest hope?
To develop my skills as a designer and grow my abilities in the Architectural Visualization industry. To leave a stable foundation and example for my family to build off of long after I am gone.
What do you want to accomplish while working here?
I want to make the most of the time I have to hone my craft and always find a way to improve. Comparing myself 4 years ago to where I am now, I can see how much has changed… I look forward to seeing what changes the next few years will have in store.
